I have no typical way of spending New Year’s Eve. Me and my friends are not well organized as most of the people are and we don’t know where we will be until the last moment. Each time it is a completely different experience. There is always high uncertainty in the parameters, but the probability of having good time is 100%.

My plan for new year`s eve is to celebrate with my friends. We have reserved a table in one of the best piano bars, where we will spend the whole night with nice live music and a lot of dance and fun. 

I usually spend New Year’s Eve with my husband and some friends of ours. The program? Nice homemade meals, good drinks and of course, lots of fun!

My new year’s eve now comprises of a meal with family and a few friends and then spending time in front of the box with a dram of the water of life. I enjoy the programmes Only An Excuse, Ally Bain and Friends and the amazing fireworks that follow the firing of Mons Meg canon to welcome the new year. I used to love watching Jackie bird present the street parties and the count down to the new year, but in her quest for eternal youth, the dose of botox on her face seems to have got much higher and this only reciprocated by how scary she now looks. Well, that’s my Hogmanay.

I typically spend my New Year’s Eve having consumed too much alcohol. This New Year’s Eve I will be aiming to beat my record of 17 Jagerbombs

I'm at home eating, drinking, talking, unable to escape the feeling that it's all over again for one more year. I cannot help it. Christmas is better in that regard.

I would like to spend this year Eve as I spent some last Eves. I will go with some friends to see the fireworks in my city main square. Before that I will have a common dinner with some specialties of my area.

We usually get together with some friends, about 7 couples overall, each of us with our children. We usually rent a place where everyone can sleep (and don’t need to drive J…)

Everything starts when a group of 6/7 friends join in one of our house and we dress up in comfortable and funny character or celebrity and then we participate in last traditional race of the year, but we take time to complete the 10 kilometers, almost 2 hours, due to we stop running several times to take an “energy” drink, during the itinerary, we go into a bar to drink a beer and chat a bit as it is difficult during the race. Once we finish the “race”, normally close to last runners, we celebrate it!! We say goodbye to the year with some other friends.

Traditional Scottish New Year, with food, wine, good friends. At midnight we sing Auld Lang Syne, holding hands in a circle. This of course is helped with lots of Whisky (no e!), or bubbles. We also practise “first-footing”.

I usually spend new year with my other half, we save half our Christmas presents too each other for the night and have a bottle of champagne while opening presents, we then have a nice home cooked three course meal (we draw lots for each course, nibbles, starter, main, dessert) and watch the new year television, we usually manage to stay up until about 12:05 before going to bed!!
