If there is evidence to indicate a deposit bag has been tampered with, what should you do?

Open the bag under dual control, check the contents match the deposit slip, if they do then process the deposit as normal. Do not contact customer unless there is a discrepancy. If there is a discrepancy then you should contact the customer and record this in the Overs/Shorts register

Call the customer, explain the situation, tell them they need to visit the store. When they are in store bag should be opened by the customer a re-deposited or opened by colleagues in front of the customer then counted and processed.
