When I was a child, our home was a perpetual construction project, and my favourite toy was my tool-belt which had real metal tools (I was very proud of this). One of the most tragic moments of my child life was when I accidentally left the tool-belt in the trench for the foundation of a huge extension we were building, and the concrete for the foundation was accidentally poured over the tool-belt. RIP tool-belt, preserved for posterity.

When I was a child, our home had a serious fire. Many things melted, including our plastic fridge letters. When we removed the melted letters from the fridge, we realised four of them spelled 'MELT' (the fridge was black with soot, but the area under the magnets was white) .

When I was a child, I told my little brother that if you poured apple juice cartons on a tree, apple juice would grow on the tree... In the cartons. We poured apple juice on the tree, and then in secret I taped cartons to the tree. My brother was convinced for many years apple juice grew on trees in the cartons.
