Preferences about the use of Artificial Intelligence in MOBA games.
I’m doing a research paper for my ENC1102 class and need people’s opinions for my primary research. My research is about Game Rhetoric application through AI in MOBA games. Thus, this survey is about which features you like the most in “MOBA” games. The survey focuses mostly on getting your opinion about the usage of bots (artificial players) and the potential use of Artificial Intelligence in other parts of the game. I want to know how you feel about them and any additional information you want to share about them. The following is a quick introduction to some important terms in case you find them useful. If you are familiar with the term "MOBA games", "AI (Artificial Intelligence)", and "bots" you can skip this!
- MOBA, Massive Online Battle Arena, is a label for games where multiple players with different skill sets have to work together in order to defeat the other team. To win in these kinds of games you usually have to collect items to improves your skills and acquire access to territories.
- AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the usage of human like intelligence by a computer to learn things (collect data, reason and make choices) such as playing a game, communicating, creating art, etc.
- Bots are artificial/fake players controlled by the computer. One of the most known ways AI is being used is in bots. MOBA games have an option to play against these bots as team-mates as well as enemies.
