2015 - 6000.15, General Maintenance Handbook for National Airspace System (NAS) Facilities

1. Order 6000.15 provides the policy for protection of agency personnel and property.

2. Maintenance personnel must document activities related to aircraft accidents/incidents.

3. For each individual system, subsystem and services in the NAS, Order 6000.15 gives specific preventive and corrective maintenance policy and procedures for Technical Operations System Specialist.

4. Certification is a quality control method used by Technical Operations to ensure FAA owned or maintained NAS systems and services are performing as expected.

5. The levels of FAA directives consist of national, regional, and local.

6. Key Performance Parameters (KPP) are critical indicators of proper system operation and the handbook OPR will designate them.

7. Technical Operations personnel must certify all FAA owned or maintained NAS systems, subsystems, and services.

8. The National Airspace System Technical Evaluation Program (NASTEP) is a management tool for quality assurance of standard and tolerances and the objective is to review of how well technicians maintain their systems.

9. Service area, district offices, or system service centers can develop their own Technical Directives to provide guidance for the purpose of providing additional localized guidance or instructions pertaining to the basic directive.

10. National Airways Systems Engineering has determined all FSEP entities require a TPR form.
