Level of Interest in Themes

There are a limited number of themes we can explore in the exhibit through intrepretive panels, artifacts and interactive displays. Indicate your level of interest in each of the following potential themes.

The importance of family and friends in adjusting to a new world - as a support mechanism for new immigrants
The role of religion and faith as a support, specifically for new immigrants
Italian backyard gardens
Italian contributions to agriculture - ground crops, orchards, dairy, cattle, other
Italian contributions to the BC Wine Industry
Italians in local sports- prominent examples and how spots helped Italians integrate into the community
Relations between the Syilx and early Italian families- 1883 - 1905
Relations with other ethnic Groups- Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, etc
Italian successes in the local business community - the Casorsos, Capozzis, Guidis, Orsis, Culos, others
Italian contributions to the hospitality industry - restaurants, etc.
Italian contributions to construction after WWII - masonry, terrazzo, woodworking, etc
Roles, experiences and contributions of Italian Women through different periods, including marital arrangements
Early italian families who had streets named after them
Fascism and impact on Italians - both here and in Italy before and during WWII
Traditions of food - how they evolved after immigration
What it took to get to Canada - for earliest families, pre WWII, After WII, today
Italian dialects - language barriers - impact on immigrants

Level of Interest in Workshops

We can also look at offering one or two supporting workshops to help teach others about our Italian culture. Indicate how interesting each of the following workshops are.
