Hey, it's Reko here.

Do you think you know where I stand politically? Below are 11 questions about my political stances, and I would like you to get to know me more.

Remember, all the questions are asking about where I (Reko) stand with certain topics, they're not asking you, so make sure you guess the correct answer. When it says "I" it refers to me, Reko.

Have a go!

I (Reko) think the voting age should be lowered to 16 years old UK-wide.
True.
False.
I (Reko) think the UK should adopt a form of proportional representation for voting.
True.
False.
I (Reko) am in favour of legalising and regulating the use of marijuana.
True.
False.
I (Reko) support the restriction of low-skilled migration to the UK.
No, low-skilled migration is a significant part to the UK workforce and placing restrictions would cause more problems than solve them. Unemployment can be lowered by creating more jobs, not restricting migration.
Yes, I believe there should be more encouragement and prioritisation for UK citizens to take up low-skilled jobs to reduce unemployment, but if there is a shortage, I would remove the restrictions.
Do I (Reko) support (and would like to see the UK reinstate) the death penalty?
No, the practice is outdated and heinous. Some criminals may be sentenced to death.
Yes, and replace the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with the British Bill of Rights to sanction the use of the death penalty.
Yes, but only for the most serious of crimes, and that crime has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt.
Do I (Reko) support the LGBT community?
Yes, I would legalise same sex marriage and continually promote the rights of all LGBTQ+ members. I would like to see this recognised in law entirely.
Yes, mostly, and I support the ability for anybody to identify as any gender socially, but would not be encouraged to support legislation that recognises this in matters to do with identification (I am open to changing my opinions on this).
No, there should only be two genders and sexual orientations should not be recognised in law. It is not my business if they are recognised socially.
Do I (Reko) support the privatisation of the NHS?
No partially, there are some areas of healthcare which benefits from private contractors, and although they may be making a profit, as long as the NHS is free at the point-of-use, then that should be a win-win for everyone.
Yes, but do not make it as ridiculous as the US with drug pricing and hospital treatment. Make it affordable for all, and free for those on welfare schemes.
No completely, nationalise all health services but encourage the richer folk to use private health services where possible. The NHS must be at least on par, if not better, in the quality of services compared to the private sector. It has to be world-class.
I (Reko) believe the UK should abolish tuition fees.
Ultimately, yes, but start with STEMM subjects and NHS/Teaching related degrees first, then transition to other areas of study. Bring back maintenance grants for poor students. Increase the funding directly and indirectly (through government grants to universities) so that all students are supported.
Yes, completely. Reinstate maintenance grants. Ensure post-bachelor degress are free, and we should encourage students to take up those post-bachelor degrees for the betterment of having more research into various areas.
No, but I would lower the tuition fees to £3,000 a year. Abolish tuition fee loans and maintenance loan interest.
I (Reko) support Brexit because...
I've actually changed my mind on Brexit. I now favour reform, because I recognise the benefits of such schemes like Erasmus+ and the EU Ventilator Scheme. Ultimately, if we can reform the EU so that it is less bureaucratic, and true power is held by individual nations and not the EU Commission, then we can make each country in the EU a better place.
We lower migration, we stop the free movement of people, we get our fishing industries back, we save money by not sending it to the EU, and we can make our own decisions again.
The EU is transitioning to become a 'United States of Europe'. It has its own flag and national anthem, there's a level of bureaucracy that's outrageously undemocratic and a gravy train for the EU elites. I believe in nation-state democracy because it stops the formation of big superpowers/superstates, because I believe individual nations should ultimately make their own decisions which affect their own people. Having a superstate adds an unnecessary level of bureaucracy on top of the one we already have. Decisions should not be made by politicians representing other countries. I love Europe and we should be working together on certain things, but I don't support the idea of having a foreign power, no matter how big or small, intervening in British decisions.
Where currently on the political spectrum do I (Reko) land on?
Right-of-centre.
Left-of-centre.
Centre-right.
Centre-left.
Far-right.
Far-left.
Do I (Reko) support UKIP?
Yes, I always have done since 2015.
Yes, I have supported UKIP since 2015, then decided to become a member in 2016, didn't renew the membership in 2017 because I disliked their direction in policies, but recently I have started supporting them again.
Not anymore no, I did in 2015, became a member in 2016 but didn't renew my membership in 2017 because I disagreed with policy decisions, and I wholly dislike their rhetoric about Muslims and LGBT rights since 2017.
Am I open to changing my opinions? (and do I welcome other people's opinions?)
Yes absolutely! I am always learning and growing as a person and I am always willing to listen to other people's opinions.
Nope, I prefer being in my own echo-chamber.
