Art Enthusiasts: For example In this session we will take easels and canvases outside and paint like the Impressionists – en plein air – in open air, outdoors. You will study the process of painting from live of Claude Monet and the impressionists. You will learn to approach the subject of nature and paint with oils on canvas. To make the study session complete the work will be timed – as impressionists did it! It will be an intense yet very pleasant session in the sunshine, you will leave more tired than from the studio practise yet will be able to grasp the movement of impressionism in full, leaving it as Monet, Renoir or Morisot. The Workshop will provide all the materials: protective gear, easels, canvases, paints, brushes etc, as well as tea and biscuits. This course of workshops is all about learning the techniques of various artists, their place in the art history, the range of materials they used and a subject matter they favoured, which we will mimic and study in detail in the studio, yet from life and not from a copy!
