SOUTHWEST VISTAS - BASKETBALL HOOP SURVEY

In recent Southwest Vistas board meetings, homeowners have commented on use restrictions related to basketball hoops. The SWV HOA Board is requesting homeowner input on this subject.

The current CC&Rs, as amended July 25, 2018, which pertain to Basketball hoops state the following in Section III.C: “No basketball backboards or hoops shall be attached to any Dwelling and no pole supporting a basketball backboard or hoop shall be located in the front portion of any Dwelling on any Lot. This paragraph shall not be deemed to prohibit portable basketball hoops. Sports and recreational equipment (including basketball hoops) shall be stored out of view from the street when not in use.”

Other related considerations:

A. Basketball hoops should never block sidewalks or be placed in the streets, as stated in county guidelines. They must be in the driveway, side or backyard. When not in use, owners must store them so they are not visible from the street.

B. Basketball hoops must be mechanically sound, clean, and well maintained. Owners may not permit visible hoops to become an unsafe or unsightly nuisance.

Please vote for one option:
I like the current rule regarding portable basketball hoops and do not wish to see it changed. No change to CC&Rs required.
I would like to see the rule(s) allow for portable basketball hoops to be kept and stored in the front of a residence (driveway or side yard) year round whether or not the hoop is in use. CC&R Change required.
I would like to see portable basketball hoops allowed to be used and stored in the front of a residence (driveway or side yard) during a certain period of the year (e.g., April – October.) They must be stored out of view (garage, side or backyards) of the residence beginning with the first snow and through the month of March. CC&R Change Required.
