Gumbo Fiction Salon at a Crossroads

Gumbo Fiction Salon has come to a difficult crossroads. For more than a year, we’ve been averaging 3-4 people in attendance – frequently that’s just the featured readers and the host. It takes a fair number of hours to organize GFS each month. While I love the readings, even when it’s a command performance just for me, it isn’t worth the hours of organizing time, and it’s a waste of the featured readers’ time, too. Last summer, the in-person shows were as sparsely attended as the virtual ones. Our space at Fado costs us $100 per night. While we have a patron of the arts willing to cover that cost, I can’t in good conscience ask them to keep paying that for three people, none of whom pay cover. Would you like GFS to continue, are you willing to participate more, or has the show run its course?
Viva GFS! We've got to keep it going!
While it was a good run, I just don't have the time or interest to attend anymore..
What, if anything, can we do to convince you to attend more often?
If you could change anything about how we run GFS, what would it be?
If the day of the week is a problem for you, please indicate which days would work best for you.

Is there something else preventing you from attending? Is there anything we can do to help?
Many hands make light work. Would you be willing to help promote GFS on any of the social media platforms, if the content was provided to you? If so, which platforms?
Would you be willing to manage the chat function for the Zoom shows, dropping in sales and social media info for the readers?
How often have you attended GFS in the last 12 months?
Do you think you'll attend more often in the next 6 months?
Yes
No
Only if it's in-person with masks required
Only if it's in-person with no mask requirement
Only if it's via Zoom
This is only for folks who are willing to volunteer. If you are please give us your preferred Email. If you'd rather keep your survey anonymous, feel free to email us at [email protected].
Is there anything else you'd like to suggest or tell us?
