HPI: Amanda states that the lesions consist mostly of blackheads and "pus-filled" bumps on her face. She does not pick at the bumps. She reports residual redness but no pitting or scarring. Amanda uses an over-the-counter 2% salicylic acid face wash and a water-based facial moisturizer twice daily. She rarely applies makeup or sunscreen.
Family History: Amanda's mother has a history of "mild" acne during her teenager years. Amanda's 17-year-old brother was prescribed oral isotretinoin (Accutane) for "really bad" acne. He has mild residual scarring.
Review of Systems: Amanda denies irregular periods or hirsutism.
