What is our number 1 priority in Outbound/Pick?
DEA
TPH
Volume
Associate Experience
What does DEA stand for?
Delivery Estimate Accuracy
Delivery Execution Adherence
Data Execution Analysis
Data Extraction Accuracy
What is DEA?
Amazon’s delivery service metric that measures percentage of packages that attempt delivery on or before Promised Delivery Date. Defects in various stages of the supply chain can cause delays which affect delivery date of packages, which consequently decrease the DEA. Each defect can be attributed to a ‘bucket’ or stage in the supply chain.
A package tracking system utilized by customer to see where in their package currently is within the delivery process.

None of the above.
How can AMs have the GREATEST on impact DEA?
Critical Inputs.
Monitor FPY.
Keep Associates Engaged.
Drive Rates.
Why should critical inputs be our biggest focus?
Critical inputs drive our outputs. Our outputs are summaries of our process efficiencies. The greater our efficiency as a building, the more resources we spare and the less risk we pose to fulfilling DEA.

Which of these is included in our Pick AM Critical Inputs?
Takt
TTT
UPT
Exception Hours
Inferred Time
All of the Above
What is our goal for takt time?
‰ 8.0 seconds
‰ 8.5 seconds
‰ 9 seconds
‰ 7.5 seconds
What is our goal for TTT (tote transition time)?
‰ 1.5 seconds
‰ 2.0 seconds
‰ 2.5 seconds
It doesn't matter, coach them to do their best
What is our goal for UPT (Units Per Tote)?
‰ 9

‰ 12
‰ 12
What is our goal for exception hours?
Improve SPE
Improve EPH
Trust AAs to do the right thing
It is not a concern.

Improve SPE and EPH
What is EPH?
Exceptions per Hour
How often is an associate marking an item as missing, unscannable, damaged or the problem menu - andons or "view container contents"
All of the Above
None of the Above
What does EPH tell us?
This metric is a good indicator that associates are having difficulties determining when to apply exception handling (potentially they are too quick in marking an item as missing, unscannable or damaged, rather than following the standard work for each exception type).
Other.
What is our goal for EPH?
‰ 1 exception per hour
‰ 2 exceptions per hour
‰ 3 exceptions per hour
‰ 4 exceptions per hour
How can we coach EPH?
Use Pick AA Rate Macro to identify our top offenders
Work with AA on proper exception identification. Ex: when is it acceptable to mark an item as missing? (Great rule of thumb: if you go to Target and an item is the last one on the shelf and box is slightly damaged, would you drive to a different Target to buy that same product, or would you buy as is? If you would buy as is, do NOT mark as damaged, but if you would drive to a different Target, mark as missing!
All of the Above
None of the Above
What is SPE?
Seconds per Exception
How long it takes on average to mark an item as missing, unscannable, damage, or stay on the problem menu - andons or "view container contents"
All of the Above
None of the Above
What does SPE tell us?
Good indicator AA is struggling with any or all of the exception handling processes. For example, they take too long looking and trying to scan a barcode before marking as unscannable.
Good indicator of potential TOT offender (AA using exception handling to wander off station)
All of the Above
None of the Above
What is our goal for SPE?
‰ 10 seconds
‰ 15 seconds
‰ 20 seconds
‰ 30 seconds
How can we coach SPE?
Use Pick AA Rate Macro to identify our top offenders
Work with AA; have them walk you through each exception handling process 1 by 1. See which step they struggle with the most, and give them tips to improve. Ex for Unscannables: if product doesn't scan the first time, use the hand scanner, zoom in and out once per barcode. If it doesn't scan, mark as unscannable and move on!
If they spend the proper amount of time with on each type of exception, monitor to see if they are using "view container contents" to go to the bathroom/wander off, etc.
All of the Above.
None of the Above.
What is our highest materiality input (other than takt)?
TTT
UPT

Inferred Time
What goes into inferred time?

Long Breaks
Station Issues
Time Off Task
All of the above
How can we achieve our goal: DEA?
Drive the critical inputs - communicate, teach & hold accountable

SCC: Staffing Command Center
