Bottom 6 teams (non playoff teams) automatically qualify for top 6 draft picks. Playoff teams can only get bottom 6 draft picks?

Players picked up on waivers and you decide to keep do you lose a 9th round pick or 6th pick the following year (each year kept you lose the next round draft pick)?

If two players are being kept and both are of the round you would lose that round plus the higher round. Example: you trade for a player who was drafted in the 6th and you keep a player you drafted in the 6th you would lose your 5th and 6th round picks the following year.
