Please choose the best candidate to be secretary.
Allison Baltz - I am a senior psychology major with minors in leadership and dance. I am in the MAT program for elementary education. After graduation, I hope to teach between grades K-3. I have been a member of SVEA for four years and would welcome the opportunity to give back/contribute as an executive board member. If elected, I would prove successful in this position due to my organization, attention to detail, and efficiency. Planning ahead and preparing for multiple scenarios are two things I do well. I take my responsibilities very seriously, and I do not procrastinate. These skills allow me to successfully and effectively fulfill my academic and extracurricular obligations. Other qualities I would bring to the position include reliability, dedication, and experience. I am presently serving as secretary for The Order of Omega (Greek leadership honor society) and would transfer useful experience and skills to SVEA. Additionally, I have successfully served in various other leadership positions such as: Alumnae Relations Director and Spirit Chair for my sorority, president of Dance Fusion, conference coordinator for The Women’s Leadership Conference, and choreographer for CNU’s dance concert for two years in a row. Also, I always try to maintain a positive attitude which helps to keep an overall positive atmosphere within a group setting. I try to be empathetic and put myself in the other person’s shoes to mediate conflict or understand an individual’s point of view. Useful interpersonal skills, consistent organization, strong work ethic, and valuable experience make me a significant candidate for secretary.
Caitlin Beverly - I am a junior English major with a literature concentration. I plan to join the MAT program this spring. I plan to teach the secondary level once I graduate and get my certificate. I am a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, a co-ed fraternity that services the band programs on campus. I was the secretary for Kappa Kappa Psi last year, and I enjoyed it. As secretary I was able to connect with the chapter, in a fun and different way. I haven't been able to go to some of the events that SVEA has offered because of schedule conflicts, so I haven't had a chance to connect with the members and participate as I would have liked. Being the SVEA secretary would help me get connected with the other members. I would be a good secretary for this organization because I am very trustworthy, I am a great note-taker, and I have good communication skills.
Emily Crawford - I have always had a passion for teaching, so I would love the opportunity to be on e-board for SVEA! I am always looking for opportunities to work with kids and gain new skills as a future teacher. In high school, I spent numerous hours volunteering and completing an internship at an elementary school, and I still work there during breaks. Currently, I volunteer at Riverside Elementary. I am very organized, reliable, and communicate well with others. I held a similar leadership position for my high school’s Key Club that involved attending meetings, keeping track of members’ service hours, and mass communication with students, so I have the experience required for this particular position. This would be a great way for me to be more involved in this organization and help CNU’s future educators!
Please choose the best candidate to be webmaster/PR chair.
Lauren Reece - I am currently a freshman and am an outgoing and hardworking student. I love to get involved with things that I am passionate about. After college, my goal is to become a high school english teacher. I understand that in this position I would be posting updates on Facebook, which as a teenager I am quite savvy with. I also believe that an Instagram or even a Twitter account could be created in order to reach more student on a platform that they use often. I would be happy to cultivate these new social media accounts. In high school, I was the President of our English Honor Society, and through that I gained the experience that I believe would serve me well as Webmaster for SVEA. I posted twice a day about updates within our society on twitter, I answered constant questions from students within the society in a kind and timely manner, and I did my part in getting many students, that were qualified, to apply and join the society. Because I am organized and efficient, I believe that I would be the best choice for this position.
Jacque Weir - am a current junior here at CNU majoring in Political Science and double minoring in Psychology & History. I have had a lot of experience in PR especially within my sorority, Alpha Phi. I think the following reasons are why I should be considered for the position; I am incredibly familiar with the behind the scenes aspects of events/speakers and have had access to all the latest software and editing websites/apps to make the most appealing flyers/headers/Instagram or Facebook posts you name it! I also advertise for the large events in the Political Science department as well as my organization and understand the magnitude and the importance of sending out information quickly and in an efficient manner. Alongside this, I feel as though holding a position such as this would allow me to become closer to this organization and become more involved in something that I feel so passionately about. I am incredibly understanding on the importance of communication and overall image. How organizations are portrayed and advertised is what draws people to join and what influences people to come to events! I have many creative and fun ideas on how to keep our event advertising appealing and cohesive as well as attract new members who are just as excited to get involved! I hope you all see me as a good fit for this position and I hope to be able to give back to something I feel so passionately towards.
Please choose the best candidate to be general e-board member.
