Plans for Work It Dance Challenge:
Event Address: MARRIOTT HOTEL
28 DAYHILL ROAD
WINDSOR, CT 06095
Each studio will receive a call time for their studio to arrive. You will have your own dressing area and bathroom for your dancers to change and get ready in. Only your studio and the Work It Dance Challenge staff will be in the production center during this time to follow
social distancing practices.
When your performance is ready, you will be brought into the
“performance room”. This room will give you the ultimate competition experience. Dancers from that performance as well as their teacher are invited in the room at this time. Audience seats will be spread out accordingly. Directors can chose if parents are allowed in the ballroom during their childrens' performances only. Seats will be spaced out. Dancers will be filmed and judged by our amazing Work It Dance Challenge judges.
A free video download will be given to every
studio of each routine so any parent unable to attend can view their dances free of charge.
Currently there are 50 people allowed in each room at a given time. There is also a lobby area in the hotel as well for parents to space out in between performances. All parents and dancers must be masked at all times (unless performing on stage).
In between each studios arrival there will be a cleaning period to ensure that everything is disinfected and safe.
Adjudications will be presented on site to each performance. Overall awards, choreography awards, and Title awards will be announced virtually after the competition is done and mailed to each studio.
Every Dancer is allowed to bring only 1 parent or guardian.
Everyone is required to wear a mask unless they are physically dancing on stage. Dancers on stage will not get any point deductions if they chose to stay 6 feet apart or wear a mask.
No points will be deducted if performances are re-blocked to practice social distancing ·
Judges are also aware and sympathetic to the
fact that most studios will have very limited studio time to rehearse before the events. Scoring will reflect this.
·
Any special announcements such as “dancers missing” or “social distanced routine” can be announced during the event.
·
Dancers wearing a mask will not have performance points deducted.
Your studio will still be scheduled for only ONE DAY! ·
Dancers that chose not to change costumes will not have points deducted.
