The Portofino HOA Board aims to increase dialogue and communication with the community, and so to best streamline community feedback, we will begin doing monthly survey in advance of the Board meetings. We know that everyone cannot attend every meeting, and as we have numerous issues to discuss & address, the Board would like to understand the needs & wants of you, the owner. Your submission will be kept confidential with the Board, but the overall results will be shared with the community.

Security is a top priority here at Portofino. We are evaluating our current methods, and exploring new ideas that would help us be both more secure and more efficient with our resources.

The Beacon Callbox with video recording is now installed and active, with the current aim of allowing remote access to guests, vendors, and mail delivery while the guard is away from the desk, or after hours. Currently, the 2 exterior entrance doors are locked when security is not present (Mon-Sat 10pm-6am; Sun 5pm-6am), and on fob access. The elevator is also on fob access. Our research shows that most condo buildings in the area have 1 fobbed entry to the building, without fobbed access to the elevator, with or without front desk security. However, since we have those fobs all in place, we have several options. We have requested Beacon to provide a quote to (a) link all fobs on the elevator, interior & exterior outer doors, and (b) add motion sensor technology to our camera in the vestibule.

What ideas should the community consider to improve security of the building?
Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. The Board has submitted an application to Xcel Energy to be a part of a program that will install 5+ free Electric Vehicle Dual Charging Stations in the garage. Each station would cost $40-55/mo, and all cost would be passed to owners by use.

The Conference Room has now been unlocked for unfettered use by the community. It has been used very little in the 20-year history of the building, and we are exploring refreshing the space, while adding a lounge component.
