What is your average days to fill a position from start to finish?

When we need to hire, we post a job, and we’re getting:
Lots of applications, only a couple qualified
Not many application, not many qualified
A good number of applications with a good number of qualified candidates
Job posts don’t cut it for us. We need to headhunt talent to get who we want.
We need help from an agency
Thinking about the last 10 offers we extended:
All offers were accepted and candidates started on their start date
All offers were accepted but one or more candidates did not start on their start date
It was a negotiation battle till the end but we got it done
We had to restart one or more searches due to candidate dropping out of the interview process or declining offers

How many (truly) qualified, interested, and assessed candidates do you need to interview to feel comfortable making a hire?
(1-3) I know strong talent when I see it. Time is of the essence. I can make a hire from of 1 stellar candidate.
(3-6) I need to make at least 2 comparisons before I can make a decision
(6-10) I need a larger group due to our interview process being so long, I worry I’ll lose talent due to timing so I need backups.
(10+) I’m old skool
